The prestigious engage in their future National Awards celebrate the outstanding achievements and amazing progress made by students from the organisation’s national network of member schools and educational settings. Not only that, but it does so in the context of each child: something that may seem easy or straightforward to some might represent an amazing leap forward for someone else. The National Awards recognises this as it takes every achievement and its context into consideration.
Nominations for the engage in their future 2017 National Awards can now be submitted. The closing date is 5pm on Friday 21st April 2017.
Open only to member schools from the engage in their future network, there are nine categories against which nominations can be submitted –
- Outstanding Personal Progress (individual award)
- Outstanding Achievement (individual award)
- Outstanding Personal Resilience (individual award)
- Good Citizen (individual or team award)
- Innovation and Creativity (individual, team or school award)
- Team of the Year (team award)
- International Award (individual, team or school award)
- Sports Student of the Year (individual, team or school award)
- Success Story
A nomination can be submitted against one category or several but for advice and guidance to help you through the nomination process and explain what nominees will be expected to demonstrate, please click here to view the Guidance Notes / T&C’s – 2017 National Awards_Guidance Notes.
The Outstanding Personal Progress and Outstanding Achievement categories have been particularly popular in previous years so if you are nominating against either of these categories you may want to consider indicating a second category in which the nomination may be considered.
In the past there has also been significant diversity in the detail provided for nominations. Although the decisions of the judges are based purely on the progress and achievement demonstrated by the student/s, a comprehensive, clear and thorough explanation of the background, the journey, and the outcome is essential. The inclusion of examples and evidence such as certificates or photographs is welcomed.
Nomination Forms can be completed offline – please click here to download the Form – 2017 National Awards_Nomination Form. The completed Nomination Form should then be posted (along with any supporting documents) to engage in their future 2017 National Awards, PO Box 451, Horley, RH6 6AW.

Short-listed winners will be invited to attend the National Awards Ceremony on Wednesday 5th July 2017 at the Copthorne Millennium Hotel in Newcastle upon Tyne. Attendance is not compulsory (although it would be great to see as many short-listed nominees as possible to celebrate and applaud their achievement) so if you anticipate any problems with getting there, please do not let this put you off submitting a nomination. We would hate for someone to miss out because of travel issues – we’ll just get the trophy to them instead! All nominees will be sent a certificate.
